David C Minton - Why You Should Get a Regular Checkup

David C Minton is an experienced and dedicated medical professional based in Tampa Bay, Florida. Something that he regularly recommends to patients is that they see their doctor frequently and get regular checkups to ensure that everything is in order. Many people nowadays eschew regular checkups, thinking they are unnecessary, but a checkup can actually be what keeps you from having to suffer from a very serious health condition.
David C Minton

Checkups allow your doctor to do a full examination that they may not otherwise have time for. They will be able to perform routine tests, look for anything unusual, and talk to you about any health concerns that you may have. Checkups are often where doctors notice signs of a larger, more serious health problem. If you go to a checkup and your doctor does find that something is out of the ordinary, they will be able to refer you to the appropriate specialist.

Checkups also give you a chance to talk candidly with your doctor and share any concerns that you may have about your health. Your doctor can address anything that you want to talk about, and give you advice and information to help you feel better both physically and mentally. A checkup also gives your doctor time to discuss new health information with you. This will help you to maintain healthy habits and hopefully reduce your chances of illness or injury. David C Minton recommends that everyone go to see their doctor on a regular basis to stay as healthy as possible.

David C Minton - Reasons to Move to Florida

David C Minton is a physician specializing in obstetrics and gynecology who is based in the Tampa, Florida area. Originally from New Jersey, Minton moved to Florida over twenty years ago for his residency and has not looked back, having built his entire career in the metro Tampa area and raised a family there. Florida is one of the country’s best places to live, for many different reasons.

David C Minton
  • Florida has very pleasant, temperate weather. It rarely gets cold or snows, so you can enjoy spending time outside throughout the entire year. Although there are occasionally strong storms and rain, this happens much less frequently than it does in more northern states. The large amounts of sun and warm weather are proven to reduce stress and make you feel happier.
  • Florida is home to several large cities as well as hundreds of smaller towns, so there is always something new to explore that is in driving distance. There is also a lot of diversity in the landscape, so you can go from the beach to the forest to a huge city in under an hour.
  • Florida is home to a variety of diverse cultural attractions. From many different major league sports teams, to a huge variety of museums, to a vibrant nightlife scene in almost every major city, there’s something for everyone to do, from families to students to single professionals.
For David C Minton, Florida has been an amazing place to call home for such a long time.

David C Minton - Popular Water Sports

David C Minton lives in the Tampa, Florida area and works as a physician. In his free time, he enjoys participating in all kinds of water sports. Tampa is an incredible location for water sports, as the weather is generally pleasant, and there are plenty of places nearby to practice almost any water sport. Tampa’s location on the Gulf of Mexico means that the water is generally calm and blue and that the sand at most beaches is also very pristine. Here are some of the most popular water sports in Florida.

David C Minton

  • Surfing is an extremely popular water sport, because it is thrilling and exciting. Surfing involves standing on top of a board to balance on top of waves as they roll in. Variations of traditional surfing include body boarding, which involves riding the wave on a board on your stomach, or body surfing, which occurs when you surf the wave without a board and just use your body.
  • Another popular water sport is water skiing. Water skiing involves riding on a pair of skis across the water, while being pulled by a boat or other vehicle. The rider is attached to the boat with a cable. Many people particularly enjoy water skiing because of its high speeds, and also because it can be learned recreationally.
  • Wakeboarding is a similar sport to water skiing, but with a twist. The rider is pulled by a boat across the water while holding on to a flexible cable and riding a board similar to a surfboard. Wakeboarding often involves doing many tricks similar to those seen in snowboarding, and is a fairly new sport, as it was created in the 1980’s.
When he is not busy helping his patients, David C Minton enjoys being at the beach and participating in leisure activities such as boating and popular water sports.

David C Minton

Women should go on regular checkups and take preventative measures to stop or reduce the negative effects of any health problems before they become too serious to treat. Luckily, the United States and many other countries around the world are starting to realize the importance of women’s health, and many basic insurance plans now cover very important services. Women should visit their gynecologist as well as their general physician regularly, even if they are not pregnant. They should receive screenings for nutritional deficits, sexually transmitted diseases and infections, breast cancer, cervical cancer, osteoporosis, and more. Pregnant women should also be sure that they are thoroughly tested and screened for any complications so they can be treated immediately.

Unfortunately, there are many countries around the world where women are not able to get the care that they need. To combat this, there are many international organizations that work to bring quality women’s healthcare to developing countries. Women with access to a gynecologist, such as David C Minton, should make sure that they are making regular visits to stay healthy.

David C. Minton - Three tips to Working as a Physician

David C. Minton started his medical career as a resident at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida College of Medicine, Department of Gynecology. He gained valuable experience there, as many would-be physicians do at their respective residencies and went to work in the Tampa community in Florida as an OBGYN. Minton learned everything he needed to be an excellent physician at medical school and his residency, but he didn’t learn how to help his community and be the best physician for all the individuals within it until he gained some experience in private practice. Here are three tips to working as a physician he learned over the years:
David C Minton
Community engagement is key. David C. Minton learned early in his medical career that engaging with the community is the key to helping everyone get the medical attention and preventative measures they need. Minton recommends volunteering in free clinics or joining education efforts to help people outside his office get the information they need to stay healthy and happy.

Bedside manner matters. Some medical students scoff at learning how to interact with patients in a compassionate way. David C. Minton honed his ability to show compassion and caring to his patients over the years and his efforts have paid off.

Listen well and respond. Sometimes patients are less than forthcoming about their medical history or current ailments. The best physicians are able to read between the lines when they are communicating with patients. Sometimes what they don’t say is as telling as what they do say.

David C. Minton serves the Tampa, Florida area as a Partner Physician for Women’s Health Florida.
